2.1 Materials
2.1.1 Synthetic Greywater
Synthetic greywater was used as the substrate in this experiment. The composition of the substrate was similar to that of typical greywater. This substrate was composed of 1.5 g/L of tapioca starch and 0.1 g/L of cane sugar which were obtained from local market in Yogyakarta and 0.1 g/L of technical grade urea and 0.15 g/L of technical grade KH2PO4 which were obtained from Tani Maju Trading Company in Yogyakarta (Budhijanto et al. 2015). The substrate was homogenized in the feed tank before periodically being fed into the aerobic tank.
